In a major operation, Customs officials at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport seized high-end electronic goods worth over ₹3 crore, including drones, iPhones, and Apple Watches, smuggled into the country without proper declaration.
The confiscated items were discovered during a routine baggage inspection, where officers flagged suspicious parcels brought in by passengers from Dubai and Singapore. Preliminary investigations suggest the goods were being imported for illegal resale in the grey market, bypassing customs duties and taxes.
Authorities have initiated a detailed probe to identify the key individuals and networks involved in the smuggling attempt. The incident highlights the increasing misuse of international routes for high-value electronics trafficking and underscores Customs’ heightened surveillance measures at Indian airports.
