Actress Urvashi Rautela has opened up about the intense preparation and emotional journey she underwent for her role in the upcoming film Kasoor 2. Speaking on the sidelines of the Red Sea International Film Festival, the actress revealed that the role demanded sleepless nights and pushed her to her absolute limits, both emotionally and mentally.
In an exclusive interaction with IANS, Urvashi said the character required deep preparation and resilience, making it one of the most challenging performances of her career. She described the role as a never-before-seen avatar in a supernatural drama.
“This will be a never-before-seen avatar for me in a supernatural drama film. Portraying this role in Kasoor 2, presented by Bablu Aziz Barudgar, produced by Asif Shaikh under Practical Production Films, and directed by Glen Barretto, alongside Aftab Shivdasani and Jassie Gill, demanded sleepless nights and pushed me to the absolute limits emotionally and mentally,” she said.
Urvashi further added that to truly embody the character, she had to surrender completely to the role, diving deep into its intensity and vulnerability. She described her experience of presenting the film at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as profoundly transformative and unforgettable.
The Sanam Re actress was invited to Saudi Arabia to promote Kasoor 2. The film is produced by Asif Shaikh under Practical Production Films and directed by Glen Barretto. It stars Urvashi Rautela alongside Aftab Shivdasani and Jassie Gill.
Kasoor 2 is a sequel to the 2001 hit Kasoor, which was directed by Vikram Bhatt and starred Aftab Shivdasani and Lisa Ray in lead roles. Earlier, on his birthday on June 25, Aftab Shivdasani confirmed his return with the sequel, expressing gratitude and excitement for being part of a project close to his heart.
