Kerala Police Alert Vivo, iQOO Users Over Fake Update Scam

The Kerala Police has issued a warning to users of Vivo and iQOO smartphones about a rising fake software update scam. Cybercriminals are reportedly spreading malicious links disguised as OriginOS updates to trick users into installing malware. Once installed, the malware can steal sensitive information such as banking details, passwords, and personal data. Officials have urged users not to click on suspicious links received via SMS, email, or social media, and to download updates only through official phone settings or trusted sources.
