US President Donald Trump has hinted at imposing fresh tariffs on India over its purchases of Russian oil, stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was aware of Washington’s displeasure. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said tariffs could be raised “very quickly” if concerns persist. US Senator Lindsey Graham echoed the warning, linking reduced Indian imports of Russian oil to American tariff pressure, and stressed the need to target Russia’s oil buyers to end the Ukraine conflict. The remarks highlight growing trade and geopolitical tensions between the two countries.
