91 Countries Endorse New Delhi Declaration at AI Impact Summit 2026; Global Cooperation on AI Strengthened

A total of 91 countries and international organisations have now endorsed the New Delhi Declaration on AI Impact, adopted during the AI Impact Summit 2026 held in New Delhi. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, highlighting growing global consensus on the responsible and inclusive development of artificial intelligence.

Initially, 88 countries and organisations had joined the declaration as of February 21, 2026. With the addition of Bangladesh, Costa Rica, and Guatemala, the number of signatories has reached 91.

The declaration promotes equitable, trustworthy, and accessible AI aligned with the guiding principle of “Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya” (Welfare for all, Happiness for all). It emphasises international cooperation, open and inclusive AI ecosystems, energy-efficient digital infrastructure, and the importance of affordable connectivity to unlock AI’s full potential globally.

Inspired by the vision of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (the world is one family), the framework underscores the need for secure and reliable AI systems to build trust while enabling economic growth, innovation, and improved public services across nations.
