In a shocking incident, police in Adilabad arrested a farmer for cultivating banned ganja plants secretly alongside his pigeon pea crop. The illegal cultivation came to light during a routine patrol, when authorities noticed suspicious plants growing amidst the agricultural field. On closer inspection, they discovered a significant number of ganja plants being discreetly grown and camouflaged among the legitimate crop.
Officials stated that the farmer had deliberately mixed the narcotic plants with pigeon pea to avoid detection and planned to sell the produce for quick profits. A case has been registered, and the accused is now in police custody. The seizure has raised concerns about similar practices in remote farming areas, prompting the police to intensify surveillance and inspections to curb illegal drug cultivation.
