Andhra Pradesh Forays into Beach Sand Minerals to Cut Rare Earth Dependence on China


Andhra Pradesh is stepping into rare earth and titanium mineral production by tapping its vast beach sand reserves. The initiative aims to reduce India’s dependence on China and boost domestic manufacturing in clean energy, EVs, and defence sectors.

The Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) has secured approvals for major coastal mineral blocks and plans to develop a value-addition corridor to strengthen supply chains and industrial growth.
