BEML Secures ₹157 Crore Contract for Switch Rail Grinding Machines

Defence Public Sector Undertaking BEML Ltd has received a ₹157 crore order from Loram Rail Maintenance India Pvt Ltd to manufacture advanced switch rail grinding machines. These specialised machines are used to maintain and smoothen movable switch rails, which are critical for safe railway operations.

In a filing to the BSE, BEML stated that the new order will enhance railway track maintenance efficiency, improve safety, and increase the lifespan of rail infrastructure. The company, which operates across defence, mining, construction, and rail sectors, said this deal further strengthens its footprint in the rail and metro domain.
