Bondi Beach Shooting: Suspected Gunman Charged with 15 Counts of Murder

Sydney: A suspected gunman in the antisemitic Bondi Beach massacre has been charged with 59 offences, including 15 counts of murder and terrorism, Australian police said on Wednesday. The attack, which targeted Jews celebrating Hanukkah, killed 15 people and injured more than 20 others.

As funerals began for the victims, Australia grappled with questions over rising antisemitism, security lapses and gun laws. Authorities said the attack was inspired by the Islamic State, prompting Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to pledge tougher action against hate crimes and stricter gun controls.
