Brother of Hindu Worker Lynched in Bangladesh Recounts Horror: ‘Not Even Animals Are Treated This Way’

Hindu factory worker in Bangladesh, has shaken many and reignited concerns over rising extremism in the country. Dipu was allegedly attacked by an angry mob over rumours that he had shared content considered anti-Islam.

In an emotional account to The Times of India, Dipu’s brother Apu recounted the ordeal faced by the family. He said he initially did not grasp the gravity of the situation when informed that Dipu had been taken by a crowd. By the time reality set in, Dipu had already been lynched, his body reportedly hung from a tree and later set on fire. Disturbing visuals of the incident were later circulated on social media.

The incident has once again raised serious questions about mob violence, extremism, and the safety of minorities in Bangladesh.
