BRS Leader Mallikarjun Goud Arrested in Medak; Attempt to Murder Case Filed

Tension gripped Medak town after police arrested senior BRS leader and former municipal chairman Mallikarjun Goud in the early hours of Saturday. A large number of police personnel reportedly reached his residence and took him into custody.

Police registered a case of attempted murder against Goud in connection with an alleged attack on Medak Congress MLA Mynampally Rohit. In addition, an SC/ST Atrocity case was also filed, accusing him of allegedly misbehaving with an SC Congress woman party worker.

Following the arrest, BRS workers staged protests in Medak, alleging that false cases were filed under the influence of the MLA. The situation remained tense in parts of the town as security was tightened to prevent any untoward incidents.
