CBI Secures Extradition of Wanted Fugitive Anil Kumar Reddy from UAE to India

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has successfully secured the extradition of wanted fugitive Anil Kumar Reddy Yeddula from the United Arab Emirates to India in connection with cases of alleged cheating, criminal breach of trust, and criminal intimidation registered in Andhra Pradesh.

A Red Corner Notice had been issued against him through INTERPOL in September 2022 at the request of Andhra Pradesh Police. He was recently apprehended by UAE authorities and extradited through coordinated efforts involving the International Police Cooperation Unit (IPCU), Ministry of External Affairs, and NCB-Abu Dhabi.

The accused was escorted by Dubai Police and arrived at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, where he was handed over to Andhra Pradesh Police officials. Authorities stated that the operation highlights India’s ongoing efforts to repatriate wanted fugitives through global law enforcement cooperation.

Officials also noted that more than 130 wanted criminals have been brought back to India in recent years via INTERPOL coordination, demonstrating strengthened international policing partnerships.
