CM Revanth Reddy Condemns Rahul Gandhi's Detention, Demands Action Over NEET Issue

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday strongly criticised the Centre over the detention of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra during a protest in New Delhi, calling it an attack on democracy and the Opposition's right to raise public issues. Addressing a protest in Kodangal, Revanth Reddy alleged that the BJP-led government was suppressing democratic dissent instead of addressing concerns over the alleged NEET paper leak. He questioned why the Centre was avoiding a discussion on the issue in Parliament and demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The Chief Minister also accused the government of using force against students protesting over the examination controversy and claimed that those responsible for the alleged irregularities had not been held accountable. Meanwhile, Congress workers led by TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud staged protests at Lok Bhavan in Hyderabad, where several leaders and party workers were detained by police. Similar demonstrations were held across Telangana, including in Hanamkonda, Karimnagar, and Sangareddy, with Congress leaders vowing to continue their agitation until action is taken over the alleged NEET irregularities.
