Congress MLAs, MPs and Ministers Blame Internal Feud to Cover Up Failure in Panchayat Elections

Congress leaders in Telangana have attributed the party’s poor performance in the recent Gram Panchayat elections to internal feuds and alleged nepotism within the organisation. MLAs, MPs and ministers have claimed that factionalism and lack of unity weakened the party’s prospects, with some alleging that covert elements within the party worked against Congress-backed candidates, amounting to internal sabotage.

However, local party functionaries and grassroots workers present a different picture, citing growing public dissatisfaction, lack of development works and inadequate release of funds at the village level as key reasons for the electoral setback. They argue that blaming internal feuds alone is an attempt to deflect attention from governance failures and disconnect with voters.

As allegations and counter-claims continue, the party faces mounting pressure to address grassroots concerns, improve coordination within its ranks and rebuild public trust ahead of upcoming elections.
