Cricket’s Olympic Comeback Gains Momentum as ICC Hails LA28 Stadium Project

The International Cricket Council has welcomed the start of construction on a dedicated cricket stadium in Pomona, California, calling it a major milestone ahead of the sport’s return at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. Cricket’s inclusion in LA28 marks a historic moment, as the sport will feature in the Olympics for the first time since the 1900 Summer Olympics—ending a 128-year absence. The new venue is expected to play a key role in hosting matches and showcasing cricket to a global audience.
