Fire Erupts in Mobile Shop in Gudivada, Andhra; Quickly Extinguished

Gudivada (Krishna district): A fire broke out early Sunday at a mobile phone shop near Nehru Chowk Centre in Gudivada, gutting the premises and spreading to five adjacent apparel shops. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, and no injuries were reported.

Authorities estimate property damage at over ₹1.2 crore. Police suspect the fire may have been triggered by a short circuit or a mobile phone battery explosion. Investigations are underway, and a formal case is being registered.

The fire spread rapidly due to wooden partitions between the shops, officials said. Fire tenders responded promptly to contain the incident and prevent further damage.
