GHMC to Launch Special Sanitation Drive Across Hyderabad from December 29

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will roll out a special sanitation drive across the city starting December 29, under the supervision of all 12 Zonal Commissioners and 60 Deputy Commissioners.

GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan, while reviewing sanitation works in the Secunderabad zone along with Zonal Commissioners Ravi Kiran and Sanchit Gangwar, directed officials to resolve long-pending sanitation issues and ensure strict monitoring during the drive. He stressed the need to focus on long-accumulated waste and garbage-prone locations.

During inspections around Gandhi Hospital, the Commissioner reviewed sanitation and pedestrian facilities and expressed concern over stray dogs returning to the hospital premises even after relocation to rehabilitation centres. He instructed officials to immediately restore footpaths by clearing accumulated garbage.

In the Malkajgiri zone, Karnan inspected garbage-vulnerable points in Old Alwal and directed officials to ensure regular waste removal and maintain clean roads and streets across the area.
