In a tragic incident in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, a 25-year-old woman, Madhuri Sahitibai, daughter of an IAS officer, died by suicide at her parental home. She had earlier accused her husband’s family of dowry harassment.
Police said her parents discovered her hanging after she failed to come out of the bathroom for a long time. A case has been registered under Section 80 of the BNS, which deals with dowry-related deaths, and investigations are ongoing.
Mangalagiri DSP Murali Krishna confirmed the incident and stated that authorities are probing the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
