Hyderabad: Female PG Students Stage Protest Over Alleged Hostel Harassment

Women PG Students Protest Alleged Harassment by Hostel Mess-In-Charge at Hyderabad University

Hyderabad: Postgraduate women students at Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University staged a protest on campus on Tuesday, alleging harassment by a hostel mess-in-charge. The students gathered in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s chamber, demanding a formal inquiry into the incident.

The students, who reside at the Girls’ Hostel on the Osmania University campus, filed a complaint with Hyderabad She Teams, accusing the mess-in-charge, M. Vinod, of repeated harassment. Audio recordings shared by the students reportedly detail their experiences, which they say created a climate of fear in the hostel and caused significant mental stress.

Responding to the complaint, University Principal Lok Pavani suspended Vinod pending an inquiry into the allegations. Authorities are investigating the matter further to ensure the safety and security of students residing in the hostel.
