Several residential colonies across Hyderabad are grappling with mounting garbage piles, leading to foul smells, unhygienic conditions, and growing frustration among locals. Residents complain that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has failed to ensure regular waste collection, with garbage bins overflowing and waste being dumped on roadsides. The situation is particularly severe in densely populated areas, where unattended waste is attracting stray animals and raising concerns of disease outbreaks.
Locals have repeatedly approached civic authorities, but response has been slow and inadequate. Many blame poor coordination, lack of sanitation staff, and irregular garbage vehicle rounds for the worsening condition. With the festive season approaching, citizens are urging the GHMC to act swiftly and restore proper sanitation services to ensure clean and livable neighborhoods.
