A man from Hyderabad has alleged that he was duped into taking up a job in Russia and was subsequently forced to participate in the ongoing conflict there. According to reports, the victim’s wife has lodged a complaint with local authorities, claiming that her husband was misled about the nature of the employment and coerced into joining combat activities.
The family stated that the man had initially been promised a legitimate work opportunity, but upon arrival in Russia, he faced threats and was compelled to fight. The wife has appealed to both Indian and Russian authorities for immediate intervention to ensure his safety and facilitate his return.
Police and consular officials are reportedly coordinating to investigate the matter and provide assistance. The incident has raised concerns about the risks of overseas job scams and the need for stricter verification and support mechanisms for citizens traveling abroad for employment.
