In Hyderabad, a man reportedly lost Rs 7.9 lakh after falling victim to a fake NGO loan fraud. The victim was allegedly approached by individuals claiming to represent a non-governmental organization offering financial assistance, who convinced him to transfer a substantial amount under the pretext of processing a loan. Only after the transaction did he realize that the NGO was fraudulent, prompting him to approach the police.
Authorities have registered a case and begun investigations to trace the perpetrators, warning the public to exercise caution when dealing with unsolicited financial offers. Officials emphasized verifying the authenticity of organizations before making any payments and urged citizens to report suspicious calls or messages immediately to prevent similar scams.
