He stressed that both nations support a rules-based global order and believe that conflicts should be resolved through dialogue and negotiation rather than force. Calling India one of the most dynamic economies with a growth rate of around 7%, Stocker described it as a key strategic and trading partner for Austria. The Austrian Chancellor also underscored the importance of the proposed India-EU Free Trade Agreement, stating it would reduce trade barriers and boost investments and industrial cooperation. He noted that bilateral trade between the two nations has grown significantly over the past decade, with around 160 Austrian companies currently operating in India across sectors such as renewable energy, semiconductors, and infrastructure. Marking his visit as a milestone in bilateral relations, Stocker announced plans to deepen cooperation in areas like technology, security, defence, and counter-terrorism through strategic dialogue. His visit, accompanied by top Austrian business leaders, signals a new phase of strengthened economic and diplomatic ties between the two countries.
