Infosys to Build 20-Acre Campus in Visakhapatnam, Capacity for 7,000 Employees

Andhra Pradesh: IT giant Infosys has announced plans to establish a permanent 20-acre campus in Visakhapatnam, further strengthening its presence in the state and boosting the region’s growing technology ecosystem. The upcoming campus will have a capacity to accommodate around 7,000 employees, reflecting the company’s long-term commitment to the port city. Over the past two years, Infosys has already expanded significantly in Visakhapatnam, growing from 250 employees to nearly 1,900, with additional seating capacity expected soon. A key highlight of this expansion is the company’s strong focus on local talent development. The Visakhapatnam centre has hired over 1,000 fresh graduates and 500 experienced professionals, showcasing the availability of skilled workforce in the region. The development aligns with the state government’s efforts to promote IT growth through progressive policies and industry-focused education initiatives. IT Minister Nara Lokesh stated that the expansion reflects the strength of the local talent ecosystem and the government’s vision to transform Andhra Pradesh into a global technology hub. Officials noted that such investments are helping reverse talent migration trends, positioning Visakhapatnam as not just a talent source but also a preferred destination for global tech companies. The new campus is expected to significantly contribute to employment generation and further accelerate the region’s emergence as a major IT hub.
