Ahead of the upcoming bypoll in the Jubilee Hills constituency, election officials have announced that voters can cast their vote using any one of 12 valid photo identification documents. The move is aimed at ensuring a smooth and accessible voting process for all eligible citizens. While the Voter ID (EPIC) remains the primary document, alternatives such as Aadhaar card, passport, driving licence, PAN card, and other government-issued IDs will also be accepted at polling stations.
The Election Commission has urged voters to verify their names in the electoral rolls and carry any of the approved IDs to avoid inconvenience on polling day. Officials are also conducting awareness campaigns to inform residents about polling procedures, safety protocols, and the importance of voter participation in the democratic process. The bypoll is expected to witness a close contest, with preparations in full swing to ensure free and fair elections.
