‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2’ Review: Kapil Sharma’s Comedy Gets a Heartfelt Makeover
Kapil Sharma, who rose to fame with his comedy talk show in 2013, was known for his sharp rhythm, middle-class charm, and jokes that often came at the expense of others. His comic timing was impeccable, but the humour sometimes leaned on crude generalisations and innuendos, as seen in his film debut, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, which explored a multi-marriage narrative with flirtatious antics.
In Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, Kapil and writer Anukalp Goswami return to the same narrative but with a surprisingly mature course correction. This sequel feels like a coming-of-age for both, with writing that carries a clear conscience and punchlines that pulse with heart. While the film retains the silly-comedy elements that Kapil is known for, it now balances humour with sensitivity, making it a more engaging and heartfelt watch.
Fans of Kapil Sharma’s brand of comedy will find familiar fun, but with a fresher, more considerate approach that marks an evolution in his comic storytelling.
