LB Nagar constable found dead inside police station; family seeks answers

Hyderabad: A police constable was found dead inside the LB Nagar Police Station on Wednesday morning in an alleged case of suicide, prompting an investigation and questions from his family over the circumstances surrounding his death. The deceased was identified as Sai Kumar, who was attached to the LB Nagar Police Station. According to police, he had reported for night duty on Tuesday and was performing his duties at the station. On Wednesday morning, fellow personnel found him hanging and immediately alerted senior officers. LB Nagar Inspector Vinod visited the police station and inspected the spot. The reason behind the alleged suicide is not yet known. The body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, Sai Kumar’s family members have sought clarity from the police regarding the circumstances that led to his death. They have reportedly demanded that his mobile phone be handed over to them, saying it may contain information relevant to the incident. The family also expressed concern over the body being sent for autopsy before they were informed and has sought a detailed explanation from the police. The LB Nagar Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the constable’s death.
