LinkedIn Tests AI Training Jobs Offering Up to ₹14,000 per Hour

LinkedIn, the Microsoft-owned professional networking platform, is testing a new “AI labour marketplace” that could offer users high-paying opportunities to train artificial intelligence systems, with earnings of up to ₹14,000 ($150) per hour. According to reports, the platform is currently in its early trial phase, primarily in the United States, and has listed multiple roles for AI trainers. These roles involve evaluating AI-generated responses, identifying errors, and conducting “red teaming” exercises to test system vulnerabilities. The job opportunities span across diverse fields such as coding, finance, healthcare, and linguistics. Pay varies based on expertise, ranging from approximately ₹3,700 to ₹14,000 per hour. Senior software engineering trainers are among the highest-paid, while specialists in areas like Excel, nursing, finance, and languages can earn up to ₹9,300 per hour. Applicants are required to verify their profiles using government identification, undergo an AI-led screening process, and complete task-based evaluations. The platform also assesses candidates based on their education, work experience, and certifications. Currently, access to these roles is limited, with wider availability expected gradually. In India, the feature is not yet fully launched, with LinkedIn indicating a phased rollout. This move places LinkedIn in competition with AI-focused platforms like Mercor and Surge AI, which connect skilled professionals with companies such as OpenAI and Anthropic for model training and improvement. In a related development, LinkedIn also noted that nearly 79% of Indian small and medium businesses prefer integrated platforms, and it plans to introduce a “Premium All-in-One” AI-powered solution to meet this demand.
