Significant changes have been implemented in the Telangana Police Department. Following the recent GHMC re-division, three police commissionerates have been reorganized into a total of 12 zones. The Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda commissionerates have all undergone key structural changes.
Under the new arrangement, the Hyderabad Commissionerate will now have six zones, while the Rachakonda and Cyberabad commissionerates will each have three zones. As part of this reorganization, the Shamshabad and Rajendranagar zones, which were earlier under the Cyberabad Commissionerate, have now been brought under the Hyderabad Commissionerate.
Additionally, the Yadadri district, which was previously under the Rachakonda Commissionerate, has been converted into a separate police district headed by a Superintendent of Police (SP).
Officials have also indicated that the state government is considering the establishment of a prestigious Future City Police Commissionerate. There is a strong possibility that areas such as Shadnagar, Chevella, and Maheshwaram zones may be merged to form this new commissionerate in the near future.
