Missiles not far away”: Pakistani politician issues veiled threat to India over Bangladesh

A politician from Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s party, the Pakistan Muslim League (PML), has issued a provocative warning to India over Bangladesh. Kamran Saeed Usmani, who heads the youth wing of the PML, said in a video message that Pakistan’s people, armed forces, and “missiles are not far away” if India were to threaten Bangladesh’s autonomy.

In the video, Usmani claimed that Pakistan would not tolerate what he described as India’s “Akhand Bharat ideology” and accused New Delhi of interfering in Bangladesh’s internal affairs. He also alleged that India was cutting off Bangladesh’s access to water and attempting to create divisions among Muslim communities, echoing unverified conspiracy theories.

Bangladesh was part of Pakistan until 1971, when India intervened following widespread atrocities committed by the Pakistani military in then East Pakistan. India’s military victory led to the creation of Bangladesh as an independent nation.

Usmani’s remarks have drawn attention for their aggressive tone and come amid heightened regional sensitivities involving India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
