Tension prevailed at Alankar Theatre in the Langer House area of Hyderabad on Monday after the management abruptly cancelled the morning show of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s latest film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. The sudden cancellation led to heated arguments between moviegoers and theatre staff.
According to patrons, tickets for the 7:30 am show had been booked through the BookMyShow app, but they were informed about the cancellation only after reaching the theatre. Customers alleged that no prior alert or message was sent regarding the cancellation. As tempers rose, police intervened to prevent the situation from escalating.
The theatre management later coordinated with BookMyShow representatives to issue cancellation notifications and assured ticket holders that they would be accommodated in the 11:00 am show. Following the assurance, the protest subsided and the crowd dispersed peacefully. Sources said the morning show was cancelled due to poor ticket sales, reportedly linked to the ongoing Sankranti festival holidays.
