YSR Congress Party president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has strongly criticised the State government’s move to privatise medical colleges, terming it “the mother of all scams.”
Addressing party leaders and supporters on Thursday, Jaganmohan Reddy claimed that over one crore people have opposed the decision and extended their support to the YSRCP’s stand against the policy. He asserted that the move would have a serious impact on public healthcare and deprive ordinary citizens of affordable medical education and services.
The former Chief Minister made it clear that protests would continue across the State until the government withdraws its decision to privatise medical colleges. He accused the ruling dispensation of prioritising private interests over public welfare and warned that such policies would weaken the healthcare system in Andhra Pradesh.
