Naidu Slams Opposition Over Women’s Reservation Bill

N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has strongly criticised the Congress-led Opposition for allegedly obstructing crucial legislation related to women’s reservation and delimitation. He argued that blocking such measures not only delays long-overdue political empowerment for women but also risks creating an imbalance in representation across states. Naidu expressed concern that proposed changes linked to delimitation could disproportionately affect southern and smaller states, potentially reducing their representation in Parliament. He warned that such an outcome would undermine the federal structure of the country and weaken the principle of equitable representation.
