National Consumer Day 2025 Observed in Telangana with Awareness Programmes and Student Competitions

Hyderabad, 2025: The Civil Supplies Department of Telangana observed National Consumer Day 2025 from December 19 to 23, organizing a series of awareness programmes, expert talks, and student competitions aimed at educating citizens about consumer rights and the role of digital justice.

The events focused on the Fundamental Rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, with activities tailored for both school and college students. Essay writing and elocution competitions were conducted in Telugu, English, and Urdu, covering themes such as “Consumer Rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019” for schools, and “Efficient and Speedy Disposal through Digital Justice” for colleges. A total of 366 students participated in the essay contest, while 76 students competed in elocution.

Awareness sessions were also held at Babu Jagjiwan Ram Degree College and University College of Law, Osmania University, featuring experts discussing consumer rights and digital justice practices.

The week-long celebrations concluded with a prize distribution ceremony at Civil Supplies Bhavan, presided over by M. Stephen Raveendra, Commissioner of Civil Supplies and ex officio Principal Secretary to the Government.
