Nikhat Zareen Storms Into Quarterfinals of Elite National Boxing Championships

Two-time world champion Nikhat Zareen advanced to the quarterfinals of the Elite Men and Women National Boxing Championships after a dominant first-round victory in Greater Noida. The referee stopped her bout against Ladakh’s Kulsooma Bano in the women’s 48–51kg category due to Nikhat’s clear superiority. World Boxing Cup Finals 2025 gold medallist Pawan Bartwal and Sumit also registered convincing wins to enter the quarterfinals in their respective weight categories. Several other top boxers, including world champion Minakshi and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Amit Panghal, recorded comfortable victories as the championships progressed at Gautam Buddha University.
