Ranchi Royals registered their first victory of the Men’s Hockey India League (HIL) 2025–26 season with a sensational 4-1 comeback win over defending champions Shrachi Bengal Tigers in Ranchi. Backed by a vocal home crowd, the Royals scored four goals in the final six minutes to turn the match on its head.
After trailing 1-0 for most of the contest, Ranchi sparked their revival in the 54th minute when captain Tom Boon struck a clinical equaliser. Veteran forward Mandeep Singh then gave the hosts the lead in the 56th minute, before Lachlan Sharp extended the advantage two minutes later. Boon sealed the emphatic victory with his second goal in the final minute of play.
Sam Lane was named Player of the Match for his influential performance in midfield, as the dramatic win marked a major morale boost for Ranchi Royals in the ongoing HIL season.
