Actress Sameera Reddy has shed light on the natural ripening process of bananas and the importance of food safety through a recent Instagram video. Sharing her experience, the actress revealed that bananas grown in her backyard in Goa took a full week to ripen naturally, without the use of pesticides.
In the video, Sameera explained that the naturally grown bananas turned a rich golden colour only after seven days, noting that their taste and quality were significantly better than store-bought bananas. She pointed out that fruits available in markets often ripen and spoil quickly due to the use of pesticides and artificial agents.
The actress also spoke about her growing awareness of the banana plant, highlighting how the banana flower and stem can be used in everyday cooking. Raising a broader concern about food safety, Sameera urged people to reflect on what goes into the food they consume and how safe it truly is.
Sharing the video, she wrote that learning to grow fruits and vegetables at home has made her realise how little people know about the food they eat. Earlier, Sameera had also spoken about the health benefits of banana stem water, including its role in aiding digestion and flushing out toxins.
Her post has resonated with followers, sparking conversations about natural farming, healthy eating habits, and food awareness.
