The Telangana government has approved the release of ₹12.99 crore as immediate relief assistance for families whose homes were severely damaged during the heavy rains and floods caused by Cyclone Montha in late October. The cyclone brought widespread destruction across multiple districts, submerging low-lying areas and damaging vital infrastructure.
According to official estimates, around 8,662 houses in 15 districts suffered varying levels of structural damage. The sanctioned funds will be distributed through district administrations to help affected families rebuild and repair their homes. Authorities have also instructed local bodies to expedite damage assessments and ensure transparent, speedy disbursement of compensation to those in need.
