Telangana Sees Surge in Engineering Exports, Eyes Strong Growth in FY26

Hyderabad: Telangana is rapidly emerging as a major hub for engineering goods exports and is confident of sustaining this momentum in FY2026, driven by increasing investments in aerospace and defence manufacturing. Traditionally known for its strong presence in the pharmaceutical sector—especially as a global supplier of vaccines and generic drugs—the State has, in recent years, made significant strides in the engineering sector as well. Engineering exports from Telangana have witnessed remarkable growth, rising from $1,827 million in 2022–23 to $7,536 million in 2024–25. In 2023–24, the exports stood at $3,457.99 million, highlighting a sharp upward trend in a short span. Officials attribute this surge to Telangana’s growing reputation as a preferred destination for global aerospace and defence companies. The State’s strong industrial ecosystem, skilled workforce, and proactive policies have helped attract major investments in advanced manufacturing. With continued focus on infrastructure, innovation, and industry support, Telangana aims to further strengthen its position as a leading engineering export hub in the country and deliver an even better performance in FY2026. The government is optimistic that sustained growth in high-value sectors will not only boost exports but also generate employment and enhance the State’s overall economic strength.
