In a major push towards digital public transport services, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has introduced bus ticket booking through the ‘MeTicket Mobile’ feature on the MeeSeva mobile application. The initiative was launched by Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar in the presence of senior officials, including Special Chief Secretary (Transport) Vikas Raj and TGSRTC Managing Director Y. Nagi Reddy.
The new facility enables passengers to book tickets, bus passes, and T-24 tickets conveniently from anywhere using their smartphones. The service covers multiple bus categories, including Ordinary, Express, Deluxe, Metro, and Metro Express, aligning with the government’s focus on technology-driven citizen services.
The MeTicket Mobile integration connects directly with TGSRTC’s Online Passenger Reservation System (OPRS), allowing digital booking for long-distance and intercity travel. Currently, around 1,710 services — including 450 A/C and 1,260 non-A/C buses — are available, with nearly 13,000 seats booked daily across destinations such as Bengaluru, Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Warangal, and Khammam.
Passengers in the Greater Hyderabad region can also obtain or renew five categories of monthly city bus passes digitally, while the popular T-24 ticket has gone fully paperless. Commuters can travel by simply showing the QR code generated through the app, eliminating the need for physical tickets.
Officials stated that the initiative will improve passenger convenience, reduce paper usage, and strengthen digital governance in public transport services.
