Sukma, Chhattisgarh: Three Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in the forests of Gollapalli in Sukma district on Thursday, officials said.
The district reserve guard (DRG) personnel had launched a search operation following information about the presence of Maoist cadres in the area. An intermittent exchange of fire broke out when the forces spotted the Naxals.
After the encounter, the DRG recovered the bodies of three Maoists along with firearms from the site, sources said.
The operation underscores ongoing efforts by security forces to neutralise Maoist activities in the region.
