Tigress and Cub Die in Kanha Reserve; MP Tiger Death Toll Rises to 27

A tigress and her cub have died at Kanha Tiger Reserve, pushing this year’s tiger death toll in Madhya Pradesh to 27. The animals were under treatment in a quarantine facility when they died. Officials cited health complications, while wildlife activists raised concerns over infection risks, poor monitoring, and possible disease spread. Earlier, three other cubs of the same tigress had also died due to various causes, including illness and natural factors. The rising number of tiger deaths has sparked concern among conservationists, especially in a state that holds the highest tiger population in India.
