Two live bullets were found in the school bag of a Class 8 student at a private school in Karthikappally, Alappuzha. The bullets were discovered during a routine bag check held by the school to prevent drugs on campus.
Teachers immediately informed the police, who reached the school and seized the bullets. The student told police he had picked them up from a nearby plot without knowing what they were.
A police investigation is underway to find out how the ammunition reached the child and whether there are any safety issues in the area. The school has alerted parents and said that regular checks will continue.
