Two Men Hacked to Death Over Previous Enmity in Andhra Pradesh’s Palnadu District
Palnadu: Two men were allegedly hacked to death by a gang armed with deadly weapons in Adigoppula village of Palnadu district late on Sunday, police said on Monday.
The victims were identified as Sri Ram Murthy and Hanumanthu. According to police, the attack was carried out by a group of around 10 assailants led by local youth Y Naresh, following a prior dispute between the two sides.
A few days earlier, the deceased had reportedly been involved in a quarrel with Naresh, during which Naresh’s mother was hit by a stone. Police said this incident triggered the attack, with Naresh allegedly planning and leading the assault.
The gang allegedly attacked the duo near a temple, using a hunting knife and an iron rod, causing their instant death. Villagers had earlier attempted to intervene and defuse tensions between the two groups, but the efforts proved unsuccessful.
Following the incident, Naresh and the other accused absconded. Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab those involved in the brutal double murder.
