UAE Golden Visa Honoree Sandeep Maktala Meets Minister Sridhar Babu, Vows Stronger Telangana–UAE Collaboration

Global technology leader Sandeep Kumar Maktala, who recently received the prestigious UAE Golden Visa with the support of Raj Bhavan, arrived in Hyderabad to a grand reception on Friday. A spectacular flash mob at the Hyderabad International Airport marked his homecoming, celebrating his international recognition.
Soon after his arrival, Sandeep Maktala, accompanied by his wife Bhagyalakshmi, paid a courtesy visit to Telangana IT & Industries Minister Sridhar Babu at his residence. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Telangana government, noting that meeting the Minister as his first official engagement on return reflected his deep respect and connection to the state.
A proud son of Telangana, Maktala played a significant role during the Telangana statehood movement—mobilising youth, coordinating volunteers, and contributing technology-driven support. His commitment to the state continues today through global partnerships, investments, and innovation initiatives.
During the meeting, Maktala assured the Minister of his full support in enhancing Telangana’s global connectivity, attracting investments, strengthening the startup ecosystem, and boosting growth in technology and industrial sectors. He stated that the prestigious UAE honour reminded him of the greater responsibility he carries, adding that he intends to channel this recognition towards Telangana’s development on the world stage.
Minister Sridhar Babu applauded Maktala’s achievements, saying,
“Sandeep Maktala’s global recognition is a matter of pride for Telangana. His contributions in projecting the state on international platforms are invaluable.”
He welcomed Maktala’s commitment toward fostering global collaborations, industrial growth, and innovation-driven progress in the state.
As Chairman of WTITC, representing 2,843 companies across 63 countries, Maktala remarked that the UAE honour is a symbol of trust placed in him. He reaffirmed,
“Building global bridges for Telangana is my responsibility.”
The meeting concluded with a shared vision to further strengthen Telangana–UAE ties, expand global partnerships, and unlock new opportunities for the state’s economic growth.
