Watch: ISRO’s ‘Bahubali’ Successfully Launches 6,000-kg US Satellite into Orbit

In a historic mission on Christmas Eve, ISRO’s LVM3-M6 ‘Bahubali’ rocket successfully placed the 6,100-kg BlueBird Block-2 communication satellite into orbit, marking the heaviest satellite ever launched from Indian soil.

The satellite, built for US-based AST SpaceMobile, is part of a global Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation aimed at providing direct-to-mobile 4G and 5G connectivity worldwide. It will enable voice and video calls, texts, streaming, and data services anywhere, anytime.

ISRO described the successful launch as a seasonal gift to the nation, highlighting India’s growing capability in heavy-lift missions and commercial space ventures.
