Social media platform X Corp has responded to a notice issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) over the alleged misuse of its AI tool Grok. The Elon Musk-run company stated that it continues to take strict action against illegal content, including Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), by removing such content and permanently suspending violating accounts. MeitY has warned X of serious legal consequences, including the possible loss of safe harbour protection under the IT Act, if it fails to comply with directives aimed at preventing the generation and circulation of unlawful and explicit content through AI services.
