No new engineering colleges in Greater Hyderabad 2025-26

The state government has announced that no new engineering colleges will be approved in Greater Hyderabad for the academic year 2025–26. This decision is aimed at regulating the concentration of technical institutions in the city and ensuring better quality of education in existing colleges. By limiting the proliferation of new engineering colleges, authorities hope to focus on strengthening infrastructure, faculty, and academic standards in current institutions, while also encouraging the development of engineering education in other regions of the state. The move is expected to promote balanced growth and maintain educational quality across Telangana.
