IISc Bengaluru Designated Centre of Excellence for Critical Minerals

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru has been recognized as a Centre of Excellence under India’s Critical Minerals Mission. The institute will lead efforts across the entire value chain, including exploration, extraction, processing, and recycling of critical minerals essential for clean energy technologies and advanced industrial applications. This initiative aims to strengthen India’s self-reliance in strategic minerals, support sustainable technology development, and foster research innovation in areas critical to the nation’s energy and technology security.​
