South Korean entertainment giant HYBE—home to global K-pop phenomena such as BTS and SEVENTEEN—has officially marked its entry into India with the launch of its Mumbai-based arm and dedicated social-media handles branded “Namaste India”. This expansion positions India as the company’s fifth global market after the U.S., Japan, China and Latin America.
The move is being seen as strategic: with India’s entertainment market rapidly evolving, HYBE plans to bring its artist-management ecosystem, collaborations and possibly India-centric K-pop acts or cross-cultural projects into play. Fans and industry observers alike view this as a significant moment in the convergence of K-pop and Indian entertainment culture.
